World Cup Player

As it is Science Term with a Sports focus, we had Ex England Rugby player Micky Skinner come in to take an assembly and chat to the pupils. He also brought a representative from the Wooden Spoon Charity with him, Mr John Grundy. Micky Skinner talked to the children about his pride in playing for England and playing in the World Cup, the importance of enjoying your sport and just having fun! The children looked at some of the caps he had won and there was a question and answer session for the seniors at the end of the assembly.

Puppy News

Hi, I'm Bonnie.

Hi, I'm Buddy.

We're brother and sister.

At the moment we are only 11 weeks old, so it will be a little while before you meet us properly. We would just like to say thank you for all of your suggested names. As you can see we have been called 'Buddy' and 'Bonnie' (we loved the use of alliteration)! Our Dad is a Cocker Spaniel and our Mum is a Bichon Frise. We are very friendly and look forward to getting to you know you all in September.

Merton Court School Easter ski trip 2018

Fifty-seven children and parents attended this year’s ski trip to the French resort of Tignes-Val d’Isere.

We had fantastic skiing conditions with lots of fresh snow during the week.
The children and adult learners made great progress and by the end of the week everyone was skiing blues, reds and even some black runs!

Apres-ski events included swimming, 10-pin bowling, movie night, bingo & quiz night. We also partied at the world-famous La Folie Douce in Val d’Isere. Our journey home was a challenge as strikes by French air-traffic controllers caused the cancellation of our flight, however we were fortunate to secure a coach to take us back home. It was a fabulous trip with incredible snow and great skiing in a beautiful resort.

Details of next year’s trip have been finalised; we will be returning to Les Deux Alpes for more high-altitude skiing, in one of Europe’s most snow-sure resorts. We will be staying at a hotel we have used before, La Belle Etoile. Booking forms are available from Mr Brady.
