LOCAL SCHOOL CHOIR RAISES THE ROOF, AND MONEY FOR CHARITY!
MCCARTHY & STONE DEVELOPMENT IN SIDCUP SUPPORTS SING YOUR HEART OUT

A choir of children from Merton Court Primary School joined homeowners and staff at McCarthy and Stone’s Sidcup development, Sydney Court, to raise the roof for Royal Voluntary Service.

The Sing Your Heart Out event at the Retirement Living Plus development on Lansdown Road was one of a series of musical performances which have been taking place up and down the country to raise funds for the older people’s charity.

The event at Sydney Court continued celebrations for McCarthy and Stone’s 40th anniversary. To honour this important milestone, McCarthy and Stone has partnered with Royal Voluntary Service on a series of fundraising initiatives throughout 2017, with the aim of raising over £130,000 in support of projects across the South East, and the rest of the country.

Georgina Akers, Regional Sales and Marketing Director for McCarthy and Stone South East, said: “Our Sing Your Heart Out event was a huge success; the choir was in fine voice and it was great to hear everyone joining in with a fantastic repertoire of festive favourites. It really was an uplifting afternoon, and we are grateful to Merton Court Primary School for helping us to show our support for Royal Voluntary Service in this way.”

We’re backing the BID!

Everyone involved in Bexley’s Bid to become the next London Borough of Culture got together yesterday in preparation for the Bid submission this Friday. With all the great cultural sites like Lesnes Abbey, Danson House, Crossness Pumping Station, The Red House, Five Arches and Hall Place and all the cultural influences of Bird College and Rose Bruford College, with all the events that currently go on in the Borough and the regeneration of Thamesmead, not to mention the proposed new cinema and Library in Sidcup, how great would it be for the Borough if Bexley won!!!
