31 Aug Senior Production – Grimm – Once Upon a Musical
If you thought 11-year-olds couldn’t put on a show worthy of standing ovations, think again! Grimm – Once Upon a Musical had everything: laughter, brilliant songs, unforgettable characters and enough energy to power an entire theatre district.
The villains were so wonderfully wicked that we almost wanted them to win… almost! Thankfully, good triumphed in the end, proving that kindness (and a catchy finale) beats evil every time.
A special round of applause goes to the fabulous maids, who somehow managed to whisk the scenery on and off stage faster than a fairy godmother could wave her wand. If there’s an Olympic event for set changing, they’re bringing home the gold medal.
Every single class sounded incredible. Whether performing together or taking centre stage, the singing was full of confidence, enthusiasm and heart.
Rumple stole scenes with brilliant comic timing, Frank had the audience laughing throughout, the Grimm Brothers kept the story racing along, and Cinderella’s stunning solo had everyone wondering whether a West End producer had secretly sneaked into the audience.
Who knew a group of 11-year-olds could deliver a production with so much talent, humour and professionalism? A magical performance from beginning to end.
