13 Oct English Week
During the week of Monday 6th October – Friday 10th October, the whole school enjoyed a number of enrichment activities designed to support our focus for the term: ‘Oracy, Articulacy and Vocabulary Development’. On the Monday children from j2 & J3 joined the senior school for the first time in a closely fought House English Quiz. On Tuesday we held our annual Spelling Bee; a mega spelling test to establish a year group spelling champion. Wednesday saw our ‘Donate a Book Day’, when we asked families to select a favourite book that you would like to share with others. Thank you for your generosity – the books have now been donated to the Children’s Book Project and will be put to very good use. Thursday was ‘Speak-up day’ when children had the opportunity to participate in a debate, ‘show & tell’ or to hear from the ‘class experts’. Friday was truly magical! It was our Harry Potter dressing-up day – which saw a great effort from children and staff and was great fun! We raised a total of (Insert amount) for Sarcoma UK, this term’s charity.
