Sadly due to adverse weather conditions we lost two hives from winter into Spring. We still have one good functioning hive and hope we can catch a swarm or bring in another Queen in the next few months to start the other hive. However, the bees in the two hives we lost left a wonderful gift of about 14kilos of honey once we had extracted it. Thank you to our enthusiastic Bee Committee who got really stuck in (and a bit sticky!) stripping the bee hive frames.
