23 Feb UK Maths Trust Intermediate Mathematical Challenge

At the end of January, ten S4 children took part in the UK Maths Trust Intermediate Mathematical Challenge. This challenging 60-minute, 25-question multiple-choice Challenge was designed to encourage mathematical reasoning, precision of thought, and fluency. The problems on the Intermediate Maths Challenge were accessible but challenging, promoting careful thinking and problem-solving. We are delighted to say that Merton Court received the following awards:
- three participation awards
- one bronze award
- four silver awards
- two gold awards
Both gold award winners will now go on to take part in the follow-on round (Grey Kangaroo Challenge) on 19th March 2026.
